Amid global wood supply constraints, countries around the world are prioritizing the cultivation and sustainable development of bamboo resources, with bamboo products increasingly becoming a key consumer commodity in developed nations and regions. China is the world’s largest exporter of bamboo products, with Europe, the United States, and Japan accounting for 49% of its imports—making these markets the primary destinations for such goods. China’s natural bamboo-based health products, including bamboo shoots and bamboo fungus, are highly favored in international markets. Moreover, China leads the world in bamboo resource cultivation and processing technologies, holding a pivotal position in the global bamboo industry. Today, China’s bamboo sector has evolved into a dynamic, emerging industry that spans resource cultivation, processing and utilization, export trade, and eco‑tourism centered on bamboo. Currently, nearly 40 counties, cities, and districts across the province have seen their bamboo‑related output exceed RMB 100 million.
